IBt teams with Russia on prostate cancer implants

International Brachytherapy (IBt), a subsidiary of radiotherapy and radiopharmaceutical developer Eckert & Ziegler of Berlin, has set up a joint venture with Russian state fund Rusnanotech and local partners to manufacture prostate cancer implants in that country, Eckert & Ziegler said.

The joint venture, which will be based in Moscow, plans to invest up to 23.2 million euros (approximately $30 million) within the next five years in acquiring manufacturing licenses, building a production facility, and expanding a distribution network, according to Eckert & Ziegler.
