ProCure Treatment Centers has opened the third of four treatment rooms at its proton therapy center in Oklahoma City.
It is the first inclined-beam treatment room in the world, according to the Bloomington, IN-based company.
Inclined-beam technology features one horizontal treatment beam and one beam at a 60° incline from the horizontal beam. It is designed to treat approximately 80% of the tumors that normally require the use of a gantry and needs 50% less space than a gantry.
