Swedish oncology firm Elekta and Mitsubishi Electric said that Gumma University Heavy Ion Medical Center in Gumma, Japan, has used the firms' carbon ion radiotherapy technology to treat a prostate cancer patient.
Elekta of Stockholm and Mitsubishi Electric of Tokyo teamed up to facilitate the use of Elekta's XiO treatment planning software for delivery with Mitsubishi's particle-beam treatment system.
