Radiation oncology firm Nucletron of Veenendaal, the Netherlands, unveiled its new Oncentra v4.0 at this week's American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting in Philadelphia.
The upgraded version of the company's multimodality treatment planning system for brachytherapy and external-beam radiation therapy features graphics processor unit (GPU) calculation capability designed to reduce planning times from hours to minutes, and a new plan manager module to automate routine tasks during treatment planning.
Oncentra v4.0 also offers a new applicator-modeling feature that provides applicator and plan libraries, bar graphs, and shielded applicators for brachytherapy planning.
Nucletron expects Oncentra v4.0 to be available in the fourth quarter.
