The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) announced that it has restructured itself into four divisions. The restructuring is the result of a year-long review of strategic priorities, according to Laura Thevenot, chief executive officer.
The newly created divisions of the Fairfax, VA, society are:
- Advocacy and clinical affairs, overseeing strategic efforts in health policy, research, government relations, and quality, headed by Emily Wilson
- Education, overseeing education and meetings, headed by Lynn Brown
- Finance and administration, headed by Terry Karras
- Member relations and communications, headed by Anna Arnone
