Radiopharmaceutical firm Ion Beam Applications (IBA) Particle Therapy will debut its Proteus One proton therapy at this week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in San Diego.
Proteus One is a single-room system that reduces costs, minimizes space, and shortens the installation time required to build a proton therapy center, according to the Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium-based vendor. It also offers integrated 3D conebeam CT imaging.
The first treatment room is scheduled to open at a planned proton therapy center in Europe within four years, IBA said.
