Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, has won an installation of its TrueBeam image-guided radiation therapy and radiosurgery system at a Colorado hospital.
Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver is the first medical center in Colorado to begin using TrueBeam, according to Varian. The facility has used the system with prostate cancer patients and to deliver radiation therapy for the head and neck. The hospital's next step is to launch a program for stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy, Varian said.
