Oncology firm Elekta has entered into a long-term agreement with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to upgrade and modernize its radiation oncology facilities, including its main campus and satellite facilities.
The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is among the 40 designated National Cancer Institute (NCI) cancer treatment centers in the U.S. Satellite facilities include the Cancer Center of Davidson County at Lexington Memorial Hospital, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, and Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
The agreement includes Wake Forest Baptist's acquisition of four Elekta Infinity linear accelerator systems, the Mosaiq oncology information system and PACS, the Synergistiq workflow management system, and Clarity advanced visualization software.
The deal also includes consulting services and a cobalt reload for an installed Leskell Gamma Knife Perfexion system.
