Image-guided therapy developer ViewRay has been awarded patents in the U.S. and Europe for its combined MRI and radiation therapy technologies.
The patented technology is the foundation for ViewRay's new radiation therapy system, which is designed to capture soft-tissue images continuously during treatment. Covering both the medical device and method of implementation, the patents acknowledge the combination of simultaneous MRI and radioisotope irradiation.
ViewRay holds the exclusive worldwide license for the cancer treatment technology from the University of Florida.
