NCCN creates imaging entity

The U.S. National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has created the NCCN Specialized Imaging Research Consortium (SIRC) to advance the treatment of cancer patients through the clinical application of specialized imaging technologies.

The SIRC, part of the NCCN Oncology Research Program, is designed to foster and support oncology research and advance technology development to improve patient outcomes.

The entity will bring together imaging scientists, oncologists, and experts from NCCN member institutions to perform clinical trials of emerging therapeutics integrated with evidence-based research to guide the use of advanced imaging in clinical cancer care.
