Philips Healthcare has introduced a new feature on its Pinnacle3 radiation treatment planning system.
Pinnacle3 autosegmentation with SPICE (smart probabilistic image contouring engine) is designed to shorten the process to produce contours for targeted radiation therapy.
To address changes such as weight loss or tumor shrinkage, Philips also now offers a dynamic planning feature to help users assess whether the current treatment plan needs to change. The feature allows adaptation of treatment to reflect anatomical changes and contours, while taking into account already delivered radiation dose.
Philips plans to unveil the new features next week at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) meeting in Charlotte, NC.
