Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has signed a contract with a Michigan health system for the installation of its ProteusOne single-room proton therapy system.
The contract with Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak includes delivery of the device as well as a long-term maintenance agreement. The deal will be IBA's sixth installation of ProteusOne, its 29th proton therapy facility worldwide, and the 13th in North America. Beaumont Health System expects to begin using the device in 2017.
In July, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared IBA's Compact Gantry Beam Line (CGBL), which is featured in ProteusOne, the company said.
