RefleXion adds $52M to coffers

Radiation therapy equipment developer RefleXion Medical has raised $52 million in a financing round.

The series B financing was led by KCK Group and included the firm's majority shareholder Sofinnova Partners, as well as Venrock and Pfizer Venture Investments, according to the firm. It also included substantial participation by Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JJDC), which will also obtain board observer status at RefleXion. JJDC will also be able to nominate a representative to join RefleXion's scientific advisory board.

RefleXion is developing a biology-guided radiotherapy system that uses both CT and PET imaging to guide personalized radiotherapy, the company said.
