Proton therapy developer Mevion Medical Systems said that University Hospitals (UH) in Cleveland has treated its first patient with the vendor's S250 proton therapy system.
The system was used to treat a 24-year-old woman with rhabdomyosarcoma, marking the first time the company's proton therapy technology was used for treatment in Ohio, Mevion said. UH will also use the system for clinical research, according to the vendor.
