21st Century Oncology names new CEO

21st Century Oncology said its board of directors has appointed William Spalding as president and CEO, effective immediately.

Spalding succeeds company founder Dr. Daniel Dosoretz, who will continue as a director and serve as a full-time senior physician with the company, 21st Century said.

Spalding was appointed a director of the company in May, and he brings more than three decades of experience in directing complex healthcare businesses and providing governance, the company said. Dosoretz steered the firm toward becoming a global oncology network and the largest provider of radiation therapy in the U.S., 21st Century said.
