Accuray secures milestone Middle East order

Radiation oncology firm Accuray has signed an agreement to provide its CyberKnife M6 and Radixact systems to the Neuro Spinal Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The institution will be the first hospital in the Middle East to deploy the latest-generation CyberKnife and Radixact systems, according to the vendor. Accuray said the CyberKnife M6 will be used primarily to treat neurological indications such as arteriovenous malformations and trigeminal neuralgia, and secondarily for extracranial cases such as the prostate, lung, and spine.

The Radixact system is expected to be used in breast, head and neck, and spine treatments, as well as to provide total marrow irradiation.
