MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, has begun treating patients with RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation treatment planning system in combination with Mevion Medical Systems' Hyperscan pencil-beam scanning system.
The treatments are being conducted with Mevion's S250i proton therapy system, RaySearch said.
RayStation helps users take advantage of Hyperscan's advanced intensity-modulated proton therapy capabilities, including Mevion's Adaptive Aperture multileaf collimation, which is designed to protect organs at every energy layer of the treatment, according to the firm.
