Radiation therapy software developer RaySearch Laboratories has signed a deal to install its RayStation treatment planning system at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach and Irvine, CA.
RaySearch notes that Hoag's radiation oncology division treats more than 100 patients a day for a variety of cancer cases, including lung, brain, and pancreatic cancer.
RaySearch said it won the deal due to its speed, efficiency, and ability to plan on one platform treatments for multiple vendors. The Hoag deal includes support for procedures including 3D, volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy, TomoTherapy, and fallback planning.
The total value of the order is $900,000, with most of the deal recognized as revenue in the first quarter of 2019.
