X-ray and radiation therapy technology developer Xstrahl launched a new version of its Small Animal Radiation Research Platform (SARRP) at the 2019 International Congress on Radiation Research (ICRR) in Manchester, U.K.
The new SARRP beamline system allows clinicians to use the technology for preclinical experiments testing the effect of radiation caused by proton beam, photon beam, carbon ion, and flash radiotherapy.
Xstrahl has also announced its plan to add a Monte Carlo dose engine to the dose-calculation algorithms currently available within its Muriplan radiation treatment planning software. The new software, Muriplan 3.0, allows clinicians to use SARRP to acquire, process, and register conebeam CT scans, calculate dose, and deliver the appropriate treatment, according to the company.
