Mevion Medical Systems plans to highlight new features and accessories for its S250 series of proton therapy systems at next week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in Chicago.
The company's image guidance and patient positioning systems now offer a range of 3D imaging options, including 360° conebeam CT technology from Australian firm MedPhoton and Catalyst PT surface tracking from advanced radiation therapy company C-Rad.
Mevion has also integrated its Hyperscan proton therapy system with the Somatom Definition Edge CT scanner from Siemens Healthineers in installations at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
In addition, Mevion is touting its kVue One proton couch top from radiotherapy positioning technology developer Qfix, which features a rail-less configuration.
Looking ahead, the company plans to add couch tops from CIVCO Radiotherapy and Orfit for its S250 proton therapy systems later this year.
