The Xoft Axxent enhancements include the following:

- The full suite of existing electronic brachytherapy applicators, new applicators for minimally invasive robotic surgery for prostate and early-stage rectal cancer, and extended-length balloon applicators (25 mm and 50 mm)
- Treatment planning programs
In other ASTRO 2019 developments, researchers from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine presented a study affirming the benefits of using Xoft Axxent for early-stage breast cancer treatment during a Sunday session, iCAD said.
