Acuson set to supply Tenet with US equipment

Acuson has wrapped up an exclusive group contract with Tenet Healthcare, which will make the Mountain View, CA, company the sole provider of radiology and vascular ultrasound equipment.

The agreement with BuyPower, Tenet’s national group purchasing organization, will remain in effect until May 31, 2000. Other members of BuyPower, including 45,000 physicians and more than 1,000 hospitals, also will have the opportunity to purchase ultrasound equipment from Acuson.

Acuson currently has similar contracts with several major healthcare organizations, including Kaiser Permanente and Catholic Healthcare West. The company’s latest product is Imagegate, a one-touch image control system for Aspen and Sequoia ultrasound systems.

Based in Santa Barbara, CA, Tenet owns 113 acute care hospitals.
