Handheld ultrasound developer SonoSite of Bothell, WA, has introduced a high-frequency probe for use with its SonoSite 180 and SonoHeart products. The company introduced the probes at this week's World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) meeting in Florence, Italy.
The new L38 probe is a linear-array transducer that operates between 5-10 MHz. It will most likely be used for breast, vascular, and coventional musculoskeletal imaging, as well as for surgical and interventional procedures.
