Piur Imaging closes $6.5M funding round

Piur Imaging, a medical device company focusing on AI-powered tomographic 3D ultrasound, has closed a 5.6-million-euro ($6.5 million) growth capital funding round.

Aescuvest Capital Partners, based in Frankfurt, Germany, led the round.

Piur is developing vendor-agnostic tomographic 3D ultrasound software. The company’s proprietary sensor transforms standard 2D ultrasound systems into 3D imaging platforms that can scan organs and anatomical structures.

The company gained approval for the system from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last September; it has also secured the CE mark. Piur plans to expand into the U.S. with its Piur tUS Infinity add-on and Piur tUS inside. The latter can be directly embedded into select GE HealthCare Logiq scanners, Piur added.
