Acuson displayed work-in-progress archive options for its KinetDx ultrasound PACS offering at this week's annual American Society of Echocardiography meeting. The new options include a DVD library and a hierarchical storage management (HSM) archive interface, according to Siemens Medical Solutions subsidiary Acuson.
The HSM interface will allow KinetDx users to archive studies to a storage-area network, in line with many institutions' goal of a single data vault for all patient exams, Mountain View, CA-based Acuson said. The DVD library option supports up to three terabytes of storage, and also confers reliability and fast performance.
