AIUM now accepting grant applications

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine’s Education and Research Fund is accepting applications for four research grants to be awarded in 2003. Each $10,000 grant can be used to fund one clinical or basic science ultrasound research project. The deadline for submitting applications is March 15, 2003.

Preference will be given to projects that focus on the economics of ultrasound practice, relate to ultrasound guidelines and education, or study clinical outcomes and efficacy, the Laurel, MD-based AIUM said.

Grant applicants must be AIUM members, and no more than $1,000 of the grant may be used for travel. Recipients will be announced at the Congress of the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, June 1-4, 2003, in Montreal, Canada.

The grant form can be downloaded at the AIUM Web site or obtained by contacting Diane Eberle, the organization's chief financial officer, at 800-638-5352 in the U.S.
