Siemens Medical Solutions has released an upgrade for its Sequoia echocardiography system at this week's American Heart Association meeting in Chicago. Called Signature II, this Sequoia option offers features such as contrast pulse sequencing (CPS), a V7M mini-multiplane transesophageal (TEE) transducer, and a coronary flow reserve (CFR) calculations package.
The Malvern, PA-based vendor has also debuted Cypress CV, which adds vascular imaging capabilities to its Cypress echocardiography unit. Users can employ a single probe for vascular applications and vascular calculations, according to Siemens.
In other AHA demonstrations, Siemens is showcasing a combination of its Axiom Artis dFC magnetic navigation imaging system and Stereotaxis' magnetic navigation systems as a work-in-progress. The company said that the system will allow users to remotely direct and digitally control catheter-based devices along complex paths within the body.
