Siemens Medical Solutions is introducing release 10.0 for its SonoLine G60 S ultrasound system at this week's American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) meeting in Washington, DC.
The 10.0 release for the G60 S system enhances the vendor's fourSight 4D ultrasound imaging technology for 4D volume acquisition and workflow support, Siemens said. The firm also has made available a CH5-2 transducer with Hanafy lens transducer technology for deep abdominal and ob/gyn exams with the G60 S.
The Malvern, PA-based vendor said it will also showcase its new offline image analysis software, fourSight ViewTool, for the premium edition of its Acuson Antares ultrasound scanner.
The fourSight ViewTool offers the capability to review and analyze 2D and 3D/4D volume data on a PC or laptop running Microsoft Windows XP Professional, the company said. Siemens noted that the fourSight ViewTool will only read ultrasound volumes from Antares 3.0 and higher software.
Siemens will also introduce its next release for the Acuson Cypress portable cardiovascular system. The release includes streamlined workflow capabilities; a high-resolution, 12-inch tilt-screen LCD for console or tabletop use; and a comprehensive set of cardiac vascular applications. The new release, called Plus, is designed for both hospital and private office environments and will be available to customers at the end of next month, according to the firm.
