Breast sonography technology developer U-Systems of San Jose, CA, will showcase its SomoVu breast ultrasound system at this year's RSNA conference in Chicago.
SomoVu features what U-Systems calls automated intelligent acquisition with standardized image capture and breast immobilization. A SomoSynthesis feature with a new viewing function offers virtual 3D real-time rendering (x, y, z, or transverse, sagittal, and unique ultrasound coronal views) and 3D automated landmark reference. In addition, SomoVu's field-of-view affords 14 x 17 x 5-cm image capture.
The system has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and currently is available in the U.S. and Taiwan. It has received the CE Mark for marketing in Europe.
