Healthcare providers' affinity for compact ultrasound systems will expand the worldwide market to more than $5 billion in sales by 2008, and the market is expected to reach $5.7 billion by 2010.
The forecast comes from British research firm InMedica in a new report. The study also notes that the trend toward more compact technology has fueled the use of ultrasound in new applications and is powering additional growth for ultrasound in traditional markets, such as cardiology, obstetrics, and gynecology.
