Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite has introduced its S-FAST emergency medicine ultrasound tool.
S-FAST is designed to provide specialized visualization capabilities for emergency physicians at the point of care, according to the Bothell, WA-based firm. It allows clinicians to acquire a focused assessment with ultrasound for trauma (FAST) image with two controls, packaged in a design that can be carried, mounted on an IV pole, or fixed on a wall or ceiling, SonoSite said.
S-FAST comes with the company's P21x/5-1 phased-array and ICTx/8-5 curved-array transducers, as well as the C60x/5-2 curved-array, L38x/10-5 linear-array, and HFL38x/13-6 linear-array transducers, allowing for handling of abdominal, cardiac, vascular, venous access, small parts, and ob/gyn exams and applications, according to SonoSite.
