GE Healthcare has released new editions of its Logiq e and Logiq Book XP Enhanced compact ultrasound systems as part of its Breakthrough 2008 ultrasound releases.
Breakthrough 2008 advances for both systems include GE's CrossXBeam software, which is designed to enhance image clarity by defining continuous boundaries of anatomy and improving overall image resolution, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor.
GE said it has also incorporated its Auto Clarity Suite, which allows clinicians to optimize image quality at the touch of a button. In addition, Network QuickSave can transfer patient information to a network folder, where electronic medical record (EMR) systems can integrate images, GE said.
In other upgrades, GE's Logiq e Anesthesia Edition has received the company's B-Steer Plus technology, which displays both the needle and anatomy in one image. The software also now includes dedicated presets for imaging anesthesia delivery to patients.
In other Breakthrough 2008 features, Logiq e Emergency Medicine Edition now has dedicated software presets for critical care imaging for patients, as well as a report template for clinicians.
Also, Logiq Book XP Enhanced has been bolstered with new LCD technology for higher resolution, improved off-angle viewing, and increased brightness and clarity, according to the vendor. GE said it has also added faster processing on the system to improve boot-up time by 70% and to provide a 30% faster mode transition.
GE also said that its 2007 global compact ultrasound revenue grew to $175 million as of the end of the third quarter, up 65% compared with the same period last year.
