Analogic subsidiary BK Medical has launched Pro Focus UltraView, a color ultrasound system designed for surgical and urological ultrasound applications.
UltraView includes BK Medical's IQPAC technology, a combination of the company's enhanced tissue definition and angular compound imaging technologies. Enhance tissue definition minimizes speckle, and angular compound imaging uses images from several angles to create a compound image, according to the Herlev, Denmark-based firm.
UltraView works with a variety of transducers, including convex and linear array, biplane and triplane, and contrast-imaging-enabled transducers for urological and surgical applications. The unit has not yet been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for contrast-enhanced ultrasound, with the exception of select cardiac imaging applications, the company said.
