Interventional device developer Boston Scientific has introduced the next generation of its iLab intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) system software.
The new software features iMap, a tool that provides detailed color analysis of plaque composition within the targeted areas, according to the Natick, MA-based vendor. Other new features include modality worklist management, an on-screen print icon, and the ability to edit and save video images of a procedure directly to a CD, DVD, or hard drive.
Full commercial availability is planned for later this year, although iMap has not yet received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
