Sony to launch ultrasound printer at RSNA

Sony Electronics of Park Ridge, NJ, plans to launch a new compact color ultrasound printer at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Sony's UP-D25MD product is a digital color dye-sublimation printer designed to replace the UP-D23MD in Sony's lineup. The new printer offers a smaller footprint and enhanced features, and it utilizes the same print media as the previous model.

UP-D25MD adds an option for laminated media for long-lasting picture quality with high resistance to water and fingerprints, and it produces 423 dots-per-inch (dpi) prints in less than 20 seconds. It also can be integrated into a medical cart with its 8-3/8-inch-wide form factor.

The new printer also has a front-panel design with user-friendly menus, two user preset color options, and color adjustment. The device provides flashing LED notification of data transmission and print cartridge status.
