Ultrasound and radiotherapy products provider CIVCO Medical Solutions of Kalona, IA, plans to introduce a new ultrasound needle guidance system, eTrax, at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.
eTrax features an electromagnetic sensor embedded in the needle's tip to give users a 3D anatomical roadmap to use during procedures. CIVCO believes the technology enables physicians to visualize placement of the needle tip in real-time or when used with preacquired 3D datasets.
eTrax is designed for use with clinical procedures including ablations, core tissue biopsies, drainage, fluid aspirations, vascular access, and anesthesia.
