GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has released Vscan, a new pocket-sized ultrasound scanner designed to provide physicians with imaging capabilities at the point of care.
Vscan fits into a pocket, weighs less than 1 lb, and measures 3 x 5.3 inches. The scanner has received 510(k) clearance in the U.S. by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the CE Mark by the European Union, and the Medical Device License from Health Canada. It's available commercially in the U.S., Europe, India, and Canada.
