Toshiba America Medical Systems will showcase a number of ultrasound upgrades at this week's American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) meeting in New York City.
The vendor has incorporated its Auto-IMT technique, 4D imaging improvements, and workflow protocol enhancements to its Aplio XG, Aplio MX, Xario XG, and Viamo systems. Auto-IMT can determine the thickness of the near and far arterial walls from three segments of the carotid artery, Toshiba said.
In workflow enhancements, Toshiba said it has included easy setup of customized protocols and the ability for sonographers to add custom annotations and reshuffle images. Sonographers can also exit the protocol when additional images are required and re-enter at the same place to continue the protocol.
In other upgrades specific to Viamo, Toshiba has provided its ApliPure, TissuePure, and DICOM structured reporting capabilities. These new upgrades allow clinicians to perform advanced exams on Viamo, making the scanner suitable for high-end radiology, vascular, and ob/gyn exams at the bedside, Toshiba said.
