Philips wins Texas ultrasound contract

Philips Healthcare has inked a contract with a Texas hospital for its iE33 xMatrix ultrasound system with real-time 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

Heart Hospital of Austin will use the device to perform valve repair surgery, specifically tricuspid and mitral valve repair procedures. With xMatrix technology, iE33 supports any cardiac ultrasound exam, including 3D, 2D, and color flow, according to Philips.
