The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) has appointed Phil Bendick, PhD, as the incoming editor for the association's journal, the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, effective January 1, 2012.

Bendick currently serves as the director of surgical research and the director of the Peripheral Vascular Diagnostic Center at Beaumont Health Systems in Royal Oak, MI.

He is also affiliated with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and has authored or co-authored more than 150 scientific publications and articles, according to SDMS.
