GE Healthcare has committed to a $7.5 million investment in Nanosonics to further develop and distribute the firm's ultrasound transducer disinfecting system.
The investment is being made through the GE Healthymagination Fund. Nanosonics' Trophon EPR transducer disinfecting system takes seven minutes to disinfect between patients, half the time of traditional disinfection techniques, GE said.
The device can also be placed in the same room as the ultrasound machine rather than in a separate disinfection room, the company said.
