SDMS launches research mentoring program

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) Foundation announced it has launched the Sonography Research Institute (SRI) mentoring program.

SRI has been established through a partnership among sonography organizations to help sonographers acquire the skills and expertise to conduct and publish original sonographic research.

"Young Sonographer Investigators" will be matched with experienced, well-published sonographer researchers and will receive instruction on how to frame research questions, how to conduct original research, what kinds of research and statistical tools should be applied, and how to prepare research project results for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, SDMS said.

Candidates must be current SDMS members in good standing, certified by an SDMS-recognized credentialing organization in the area in which the research is to be performed, and have an associate or more advanced degree, according to the foundation.
