Putting ultrasound first
Finally, amid all the talk around reducing radiation dose, there's one modality that's both safe for patients and inexpensive to boot: ultrasound.
Ultrasound often seems to get left behind in the dose-reduction debate. But a group of the modality's proponents, led by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, is seeking to change that, and it took the first steps with a symposium held earlier this week in New York City.
