Analogic posts dip in imaging revenues, U.S. sales uptick

Analogic turned in a mixed financial performance for its 2015 fiscal second quarter. Ultrasound revenues climbed 6%, while revenues in the firm's Medical Imaging segment dipped 8%.

For the period (end-January 31), Analogic's Medical Imaging unit had revenues of $73.1 million, down 8% from the $79.6 million reported in its 2014 fiscal second quarter. The timing of shipments was primarily to blame for the revenue drop, according to the company.

Ultrasound segment revenue reached $42.5 million in the second quarter, up 6% overall and up 10% on a constant currency basis from the $40.1 million turned in during the same period a year ago. Analogic said that ultrasound revenue growth was driven by direct sales in North America and China, as well as higher sales of OEM ultrasound probes.
