Fujifilm VisualSonics has installed one of its Vevo MD ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) clinical ultrasound systems at an Italian university.
Second University of Naples has already used ultrahigh-resolution ultrasound systems from VisualSonics for preclinical small animal anatomy studies for a decade. Adding a Vevo MD unit will allow the university to develop new clinical applications for the neonatology, vascular, musculoskeletal, and dermatology fields, the company said.
Vevo MD offers image resolution down to 30 microns, and it's compatible with the firm's UHF series of transducers, which can operate in a range of frequencies up to 70 MHz, according to Fujifilm VisualSonics.
