Rivanna receives NIBIB grant

Ultrasound technology developer Rivanna Medical said it has been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

The NIBIB Small Business Innovation Research grant will be used to fund the development and clinical validation of the company's BoneEnhance image reconstruction algorithm for providing 3D detection of fractures in the emergency department, Rivanna said. BoneEnhance is currently available on Rivanna's Accuro handheld ultrasound image-guidance platform.
