Ultrasound technology developer Verathon has introduced BladderScan Prime Plus, the new version of its portable 3D ultrasound system.
BladderScan Prime Plus features the company's ImageSense artificial intelligence technology, which yields bladder volume measurement accuracy ± 7.5% on volumes from 100 mL to 999 mL and ± 7.5 mL on volumes from 0 to 100 mL, according to the company. This performance represents a significant improvement in accuracy over previous BladderScan products, Verathon said.
In other upgrades, BladderScan Prime Plus offers one-mode scanning for all patient types as well as "point and click" capability for measuring bladder volume, according to the vendor. In addition, the firm said it has improved its BladderTraq technology and added new visual/color cues to indicate proper aiming. BladderScan Prime Plus also features a medical-grade design that's simple to clean and compliant with hospital disinfectant standards, the company said.
Upon request, existing BladderScan Prime customers will be able to receive the Prime Plus software upgrade for free, Verathon said.
