U.K. ultrasound training developer MedaPhor has released BodyWorks Eve, a female mannequin-based simulator designed to assist in the education of medical professionals practicing point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency medicine and critical care.
The high-fidelity simulator combines self-directed learning with tutor-led scenario training based on the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) Point-of-Care Ultrasound Curriculum Guidelines, according to the company. Produced in partnership with Lifecast Body Simulation, BodyWorks Eve combines MedaPhor's HeartWorks and ScanTrainer simulators into one learning platform.
Suitable for both novices and experienced practitioners, BodyWorks Eve encompasses simulated POCUS experiences for echocardiography, as well as lung, transabdominal, and pelvic ultrasound cases, the firm said. It also includes more than 100 patient ultrasound scans, with the potential to display over 10,000 pathology variations.
MedaPhor is now accepting orders for BodyWorks Eve and expects to begin shipments in April.
