The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) has launched a new community for medical professionals practicing urologic ultrasound.
The AIUM board of governors approved the petition, presented by AIUM members, to create the urology ultrasound community.
AIUM has always represented those who practice urologic ultrasound, and it has offered urologic ultrasound accreditation since 2013. However, having an official AIUM community gives urologic ultrasound practitioners an easier way to locate educational materials, a dedicated web page, the ability to elect leaders, sessions at the AIUM convention, and a dedicated members-only online community on Connect.
The urologic ultrasound community will elect its first leaders during AIUM's upcoming elections.
