Philips launches new AI software for cardiovascular ultrasound

Philips parent company Royal Philips is rolling out a software upgrade called Transcend Plus for its EPIQ CVx and Affiniti CVx cardiovascular ultrasound systems.

Transcend Plus introduces advances in image quality and AI, including newly cleared 2D Auto ejection fraction (EF) and 2D Auto EF Advanced tools designed to streamline clinical workflows and improve diagnostic accuracy across a range of care settings, according to the vendor. 2D Auto EF Advanced adds AI-powered quantification capabilities for both contrast and noncontrast studies, the company said.

The latest upgrade builds on the original launch of Transcend last year, with 26 cardiovascular ultrasound AI applications now fully integrated into both the EPIQ and Affiniti CVx systems.
